|Project Name:||National Land Use Master Plan for Lebanon (SDATL)
|Description:||ECODIT worked with Dar Al-Handasah (Lebanon) and IAURIF (France) to develop a National Land Use Master Plan for Lebanon (or Schéma Directeur d’Aménagement du Territoire Libanais). ECODIT contributed to the “Natural Resources” aspects of the plan, one of five themes in this three-year project. ECODIT compiled a complete inventory of protected sites in Lebanon and localized each site using topographic maps and ground validation: 15 protected forests, six protected areas, four World Heritage Sites, four Ramsar Sites and about a dozen other protected sites including rivers and mountain summits. |
ECODIT also acted as a liaison between the project team and dozens of government agencies and institutions in the country, organizing consultations with professionals and NGOs and assembling pertinent information.
