Project Name:Marketing and Business Plan for Rural Products of the Shouf Biosphere Reserve
Description:ECODIT conducted a Marketing and Business Plan for the rural development program of the Shouf Biosphere Reserve (SBR) in Lebanon. The objectives of this study was to improve and organize the program, increase benefits to the local community, increase revenues to ACS, in support of the biosphere management objectives. ECODIT compiled and reviewed previous studies and existing records, conducted a public consultation process with stakeholders from ACS and from similar initiatives in Lebanon, analyzed the current production, marketing, and distribution process, and identified new opportunities for product marketing, considering product range, product price, selling points, package, and label. ECODIT also revisited the current allocation of roles and responsibilities between the “program agent” and ACS, and prepared a 5-year action plan for implementing the study.

This project activity was financed through a grant from the Environmental Fund for Lebanon (EFL), funded by the German Government through GTZ and managed by the Lebanese Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR).
