ECODIT Liban conducted an environmental impact assessment for an 84MW wind farm located in Akkar, North Lebanon. According to the national wind atlas, Lebanon has the potential of 6.1GW onshore wind power capacity in the Akkar area. The 84MW wind farm will be one of the first grid-connected wind power plants in Lebanon and will offset greenhouse gas emissions. With its implementation, the project will be supporting the Government of Lebanon target to achieve 12% Renewable Energy in 2020.
